One of the more depressing things when you’re a teen prodigy is that you think every one around you with average intelligence is stupid and simple minded. When you grow up and people older than you make stupid decisions, you realise that people of average intelligence are still stupid and simple minded.

I was going through the trouble tickets last night and came across a blog written by a woman in her 40’s. She’s approaching 50, but she claims to have been blogging for as long as I have (at least a decade now). Her complaint was the Presidential Address; it’s going to make her miss the first episode of the final season of a fictional Hollywood hogwash TV show called Lost. It’s not even a reality show. Ok. Be a little upset about that. I know when I was 10/11 years old, I used to cry because I had to go to speech therapy from being hearing impaired all my life and trying to communicate with hearing words was hard, and I plus I missed my re-run of Perfect Strangers. Reading back on my older notebooks from that time, I was fully convinced I was going to run away and marry Balki and live happily ever after.

Yes, this built up some resentment towards my speech therapy. But I would never post on the internet (then or now), where thousands of people could read it, that I intended to burn down the building where the speech therapy was being held, or that I’d blow up the building, or seek any other form of personal, cruel revenge on the lives of the people who worked for that corporation. No, the blogger didn’t say she was going to inflict bodily harm on Obama; she was just going to petition to actively have him impeached if she missed her show. And if he wasn’t impeached by May, she was moving to Canada and becoming a citizen there. Personally, I think she should move to Mexico first, see how a third world country lives for a little while. But it was shocking all the same. This woman seriously wanted the President removed from office if she missed a TV show.

The Presidential Address has been broadcast on that date ever since there were TVs. Obama will be remembered as a great man for centuries after he is no longer president. Who is going to remember the “great” impact of Lost? This time next year, there will be no Lost. Which I say good riddance.

What really shocked me was this woman had more comments on that one post than I have on both of my blogs combined. She had over 600 comments. I scanned them all, and not a single one of them told her she was a complete and utter moron. Most of them were in support of her petition (which is going to happen strictly online–she’s the lazy type who doesn’t believe in walking door-to-door to support her cause), and stated they’d sign it and then move to Canada if Obama wasn’t impeached by May.

Seriously, ladies, you won’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.
