The Last Post I Waste On This

I found the site with the redirecting, Firefox browser shrinking ad on it and reported it. I was attempting to write email last night when my browser went bonkers because of this ad. People who willingly run ads like that with no regard for the people who are visiting other sites or have tabs open, really piss me off.

I will not be posting about this anymore. If the EC members choose to break the rules, I won’t complain here. I’ll just silently report them and go on. I initially posted here about this because I wanted others to tell me they had the same issues, but that didn’t happen. It just caused drama, so no more.

Heh..I’m the “undercover cop of EC” according to one of the links in here today. That’s ok. I don’t care.

    There is one member who is running ads on all of his blogs that have a redirect on them, I’ve reported on a couple of them just because they are so annoying – I also told him that I reported him then I forgot about it until about a week ago. I was surfing, doing my drops, sitting in the living room with the kids, when I opened up one of his site by mistake – got a redirect and this big nasty page came on with some guy getting a blow job and the words “fuck bot” across the top in big letters. That was a lot of fun explaining to my kids.

    The three sites that I complained about last night were removed and tonight I was able to do my 600 drops without any trouble at all. For the first time since I used EntreCard over a year ago, I never had any trouble with the drops.

    I think I know why these people do this. Their sites aren’t updated for six months or more, yet they’re in the top drops at EC because they drop cards every day and advertise like crazy. Since June I have gotten 27,000+ hits and bumped up a couple of PRs in the mean time. I’m assuming these people do these ads because of the massive hits EC gives them. Ad companies eat that up and don’t bother with seeing that the site hasn’t been updated in months.

    It appears the ads are against EC’s TOS because the three sites I reported last night are gone. For the first time of dropping bulk cards on EC, I had a trouble free night. The sites I reported hadn’t been updated in nearly six months. I think I know why they do this. I have gotten 27,000+ unique hits since June and my site has gone up on the PR food chain. Advertisers don’t care where you get the hits from, but you’re paid based on how many hits your site gets. That’s why these blogs are at the top dropper’s list and haven’t been updated in six months or more. They’re only dropping cards to get hits to their site that rakes in money from advertisers. Pretty shallow, if you ask me.
